R&D
With over 20 years of research and development, Bodyfriend positions itself as a pioneer in healthcare robotics and home digital health. Going beyond the simple massage chair, its core mission is “to extend humanity’s healthy life span by 10 years”
With over 270 dedicated researchers at its R&D center, Bodyfriend develops the healthcare robots of tomorrow, drawing on three core R&D hubs :
Medical R&D Center : Staffed by board-certified medical doctors (neurologists, orthopedists, psychiatrists, and internal medicine specialists). They conduct clinical trials to ensure massage routines produce verifiable physiological and mental benefits.
Technology Lab : Focuses on kinetic engineering, mechanical actuators, sensor integration, biometrics, and AI software.
Design Lab : Focuses on human ergonomics, spatial aesthetic integration, and high-end brand collaborations (e.g., Italdesign, Lamborghini).
Beyond technology, Bodyfriend also engages top experts in aesthetics and ergonomics. By collaborating with industry leaders, such as Italian design specialist Italdesign and iconic brands like B&O and Lamborghini. The company has successfully aligned itself with those who demand the very best in art and passion.
Each year, the brand unveils new healthcare robots featuring groundbreaking innovations that have garnered numerous awards in various international competitions.
ROBOTICS TECHNOLOGY
Healthcare Robots Driven by Robotics Technology
Bodyfriend introduced the world’s first Healthcare Robot with independently moving legs in 2022.
Since then, we have continued to advance robotics technology, developing Healthcare Robots that deliver new stimulation to the entire body and promote healthy movements.
What is Healthcare Robot?
It senses the human body shape and, through robotics technology that generates diverse movements throughout the entire body, delicately stimulates the muscles and provides core training.
The Advancement of Robotics Technology
ROVO Walking – Independent movement of both legs strengthens the lower body and core muscles
Active Arm – Pulling technology that stimulates the arm and shoulder muscles
Flexible Frame – A frame that reclines and elevates to provide full-body stretching
Standing ROVO – Assists user in boarding by allowing the robot to sit and stand on its own
